Ο Αμερικανός μουσικός παραγωγός και ράπερ Dr. Dre τιμήθηκε με αστέρι στο Hollywood Walk of Fame. Πριν 9 μήνες είχε τιμηθεί μεταθανάτια ο 2Pac και παλιότερα ο Ice Cube (2017) και ο Snoop Dogg (2019).
Το αστέρι του βρίσκεται δίπλα στο αστέρι του Snoop Dogg και είναι το 2.775ο αστέρι. Παρόντες ήταν οι στενοί του συνεργάτες Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent και Eminem.
Ο Dre ανέβηκε στο βήμα και εκφώνησε ομιλία.
“Growing up in Compton, I never imagined that I would one day be represented here among some of my childhood heroes,” ξεκίνησε.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to make a living doing exactly what I love to do. How about that? Isn’t that the dream?” ρώτησε ο Dre το πλήθος. “Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of finding and nurturing new talent as well as pushing the boundaries in hip-hop both in content and substance.“
“But I’m most proud of elevating the sound and clarity of how we experience hip-hop. Getting that thing right is one of my greatest achievements. I love that this honor is unique to Los Angeles and brings fans from all over the world to connect with their favorite artists. I’ll be here forever.”
Ο Dre έκανε την εμφάνισή του ως ο ηχητικός αρχιτέκτονας και συνιδρυτής του σημαντικού ραπ γκρουπ N.W.A και κέρδισε το πρώτο του Νο. 1 στην κορυφή του Billboard Hot 100 με το “California Love” του 2Pac το 1995.
